On the issue of lack of oxygen in Delhi hospitals, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet Deputy Governor Anil Baijal today. The meeting will also discuss the escalation of corona cases and deaths due to infection. On Tuesday, Kejriwal had also requested the Center to provide oxygen to Delhi immediately.
Meanwhile, news of relief has come from Sir Gangaram Hospital. According to the hospital administration, 4500 cubic meters of oxygen were supplied by a private vendor and 6000 cubic meters by Inox Air last night. At the moment 11,000 cubic meters of oxygen are needed.
According to the hospital administration, the oxygen available tomorrow (Thursday) is expected to run till 9 am. Meanwhile, Indian Oxygen Limited and Inox have promised that the oxygen tanks will be refilled in a day.
The issue of lack of oxygen in Delhi’s hospitals was also raised during the hearing of a petition in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday. The High Court had told the central government that industries could wait for oxygen supply, but not corona patients. At the same time, he said that it has been heard that doctors at Gangaram Hospital are being pressured to reduce the oxygen being given to Corona patients.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on Tuesday appealed to the Center through social media. “In some hospitals, there are only a few hours of oxygen left,” he said. I join hands with the Central Government and request it to provide oxygen to Delhi immediately.
Along with Kejriwal’s appeal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had also told about the situation in Delhi through social media. He wrote that calls are coming from all the hospitals regarding oxygen. Suppliers are being stopped in different states. The Central Government has to be extremely sensitive and active so that there is no jungle between the states regarding the supply of oxygen.
