Honor: Superstar Rajinikanth to receive 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Veteran actor Rajinikanth of South Cinema will be honored with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar announced on Thursday. This time all awards have been delayed due to Corona virus. Recently the National Award has also been announced. Dadasaheb Phalke is considered the most prestigious award of Indian cinema. Prakash Javadekar said in a press conference- ‘Today we are very happy to announce this year’s Dadasaheb Phalke Award to the great hero Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth has been ruling the cinema for the past 5 decades. This year the selection jury has done this. The jury has featured artists such as Asha Bhosle, Mohanlal, Vishwajit Chatterjee, Shankar Mahadevan and Subhash Ghai.

Rajinikanth  had a difficult childhood. In childhood, he faced financial crisis. Rajinikanth’s real name was Shivaji Rao Gaikwad. This is what Shivaji Rao later became Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth was five years old when his mother passed away. After the demise of the mother, the responsibility of the family fell on her comb. It was not easy for Rajinikanth to run home. He even worked as a coolie to run the house.

Rajinikanth used to work as a bus conductor before appearing in films. Rajinikanth took an entry in the Tamil film industry with Balachandra’s film ‘Apoorva Ragnagal’. The film also featured Kamal Haasan and Srividya. Rajinikanth made his acting debut in Kannada plays. Rajinikanth became popular from house to house in the role of Duryodhana.

Rajinikanth first appeared as a hero in SP Muthuraman’s film Bhuvan Oru Kelvikuri after acting in many negative roles. Let me tell you, people are crazy about them to the extent that they consider them as ‘God’. Rajinikanth’s films are released till 3:30 in the morning. Rajinikanth, who became a superstar from Coolie, would never have reached here if his friend Raj Bahadur had not kept his dream of becoming an actor alive. And it was he who asked Rajinikanth to enroll in the Madras Film Institute. Due to his friend, Rajinikanth went ahead and then started working in films.

In 1983, he made his debut in Bollywood. His first Hindi film was Andha Kanoon. Rajinikanth then climbed the stairs of elevation only after this. Today he is called the biggest star of South Indian cinema. Dada Saheb Phalke is called the father of Indian cinema. These awards are given every year in his name. So far this award has been given 50 times. Amitabh Bachchan was given the award before Rajinikanth.
