Registration for people over 18 years of age to get Covid-19 vaccinated will begin on April 28 on the Covin or Arogya Setu App. The officials gave this information on Thursday. The process for registration and the required documents are the same as in the earlier phase.
The central government has announced to allow vaccination to all people above 18 years of age under the third phase of the vaccination campaign in the country from May 1.
The official said that some standards have been changed, including age eligibility, and the Covin platform is set to work in line with the huge demand when vaccination starts for all.
It is to be noted that from May 1, private Covid-19 vaccination centres, which are taking vaccine doses from the government in the current system and charging Rs 250 per dose, will be able to purchase vaccine supplements directly from the vaccine producers.
Under the liberalized pricing and accelerated national Covid-19 vaccination strategy, free immunization of people over 45 years of age, health workers and workers working on the advance front will continue and vaccine supplements will be available from the central government for them.
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said on Wednesday, ‘Since the Center has liberalized the vaccination policy, it does not mean that the vaccine will be available in the open market at the chemists’.
