A bench of Justices Bela Trivedi and Bhargava De Caria said that the Gujarat government should be clear on the distribution of amphotericin-B injections, how many patients are in government, non-government hospitals and how many medicines were given to them.

Taking suo moto cognizance of the PIL, the court said that apart from this, more details are needed on the constitution of the expert committee and on whose decision the patient will be given medicine considering it seriously. The court said that as per the May 19 notification, only 7 districts have been included. The court wondered on what basis the medicines received from the Center would be given to the patients admitted in government, private hospitals and corporation hospitals.
