DMK President MK Stalin on Friday took a major relief to those battling the Corona crisis after taking oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and made several announcements, which his party promised during the Vidhan Sabha elections.
Chennai: On Friday, After the DMK (DMK) victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election, party president MK Stalin was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. After becoming the Chief Minister, Stalin gave great relief to the people struggling with the Corona crisis and made several announcements, which his party had promised during the Vidhan Sabha elections.
Ration cardholders will get 2000 rupees
After taking over as Chief Minister, MK Stalin issued the first order and announced to provide Rs 4000 to Rice Ration Card Holders to help the citizens affected by the pandemic. To implement this, the Chief Minister has signed an order in May to provide an amount of Rs 4153.69 crore as the first instalment of Rs 2000, giving 2 crores 7 lakh 67 thousand ration card holders, an official release said will get the benefit.
MK Stalin also signed another order and cut the price of state-run Aavin Milk Price by up to three rupees. This order will be effective from 16 May.
Free bus travel for women
Another election promise has been said in the release that women can travel free of cost in all buses operated by the State Transport Corporation from Saturday (May 8). The government has allocated Rs 1200 crore as a subsidy for this.
Corona treatment in private hospitals
Issuing the first order after taking charge as Chief Minister, MK Stalin also announced to bring the treatment of Korana virus in private hospitals under the purview of the government insurance scheme so that people can get relief.
Approval of department formation for people’s grievances
Simultaneously MK Stalin also approved the formation of a department headed by an IAS officer to implement the ‘Chief Minister in your constituency’ scheme so that the grievances of the people can be resolved within 100 days. .
