Love jihad will now be illegal in Gujarat. The Gujarat Legislative Freedom Amendment Bill -2021 has been passed by the state legislature. Under this, a provision of imprisonment of three to five years and fine of two lakh rupees has been made for marriage and conversion of a woman of other religion by showing seduction, intimidation, greed and fear.
In the case of minor and scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, will be a sentence of seven years. A 10-year sentence has been provided for helping any organization in this work. Also, such an institution will not get government grant.
The government has considered it a non-bailable offense and only an officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police will be able to investigate such cases. In such a case, the aggrieved parents, siblings or close relatives or adopted person can also complain to the police.
Minister of state for home Pradeep Singh Jadeja introduced the anti-love jihad bill in the assembly on Thursday. During this, there was a lot of uproar in the house. Congress MLA Imran Khedawala tore the copy of this bill in the House itself. Pradeep Singh Jadeja has demanded stern action against the Congress bill on tearing down the bill.
In fact, during the current budget session, Minister of State for Home Pradeep Singh Jadeja introduced the Amendment Bill of the Freedom of Religion Act of 2003. However, the word Love Jihad is not used in it. Jadeja spoke for an hour in the House. He said that such law is also there in many states and other countries.
In Hindu society, daughters are considered to be a piece of jewelery. They cannot be allowed into jihadi hands. The name change should be strictly dealt with by the jihadi elements who convert Hindu women into courts of love and marriage.
The state government has brought this law to ban such trends. Citing the report of the Church of Kerala, he claimed that after conversion, such women are being misused for terrorist tendencies. Here, apart from Khedawala, another Congress MLA Gyasuddin Sheikh also opposed this bill.

Making laws for love jihad is not our political objective. This is our pain, that is why we are making this law. The state government has decided to strictly deal with those who convert Hindu women by converting in the name of love jihad and making their lives hell.
