Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh held a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday. In the meeting of this high level committee for organizing the 400th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Captain said that we are committed to the grand event of this important occasion. The central government has also constituted a 70-member high-level committee for this event. During this time, the Captain has appealed to the Central Government to sanction a fund of 937 crores.

  • SGPC will conduct centenary celebrations with Punjab government

 The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had decided not to invite the Prime Minister for other centenary celebrations including the 400th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur had said that SGPC will organize the centenary celebrations in collaboration with the Punjab government. In this regard on Thursday, Captain Amarinder Singh held a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa were also present in the meeting of this high level committee. During this, the Captain said that the State Government is committed to the grand event of this important occasion. The series of events for this holy festival will start from April 15, which will conclude on May 1 with the main gathering.

  • Demand to make Anandpur Sahib a smart city

The Chief Minister has appealed to the Prime Minister to sanction Rs 937 crore for various proposed projects as part of the programs to be organized on this occasion. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also demanded that Shri Anandpur Sahib be made a smart city. The central government has also constituted a 70-member high-level committee for this. However Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in this function is doubtful.
