Mr. Anandpur Sahib MP and former Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari has advised Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal to stay away from the politics of identity. He has reacted strongly to the former Deputy Chief Minister’s statement that the Akali Dal came to power in the year 2022, making the Dalit community a deputy CM. MP Tiwari has asked Sukhbir the question that why a Dalit can be made only Deputy Chief Minister, why cannot he become Chief Minister? Or is the position of the top fixed for anyone?
Tiwari said that when the matter of politics of identity is pursued, people will clearly ask why a Hindu cannot become the Chief Minister. Or why no person belonging to the OBC community can become the Chief Minister of the state. He warned Sukhbir that the politics of identity has become a problem for the country and our civilization. It is against the ideology of Punjab based on three words of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat. Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji gave the message of “Manas ki jat sabhe ek pechanabo”. Sikhism has also been established on the basis of ideas of mutual equality. He said that millions of Punjabis living abroad are living and working there only because those countries have created the structure of a society without high, where the success or failure of a person is determined by his hard work and not his skin. Depending on color, religion or nationality.
MP Tiwari said that who should be at the top position of the state, it should be decided on the basis that the state should progress and improve the standard of living of the people. He said he strongly believed in social justice but was strongly against the misuse of social justice for symbolism and for the accomplishment of petty political objectives.
