COVID Guideline Violation: Major negligence of railways in Punjab, Covid test is not being done for passengers coming from other states

2 min read

The problem may be worsened due to the absence of a covid test for the passengers coming to Punjab via the train. The officials of the railway department are not showing any interest in this, since the Punjab government issued the entry orders only after the corona report of the passengers coming from outside states is negative. The Railway Department believes that they have not received any such instruction from the Central Government that corona test of passengers at the station should be done or their report should be seen.

At the same time, the Health Department is not taking these orders of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh seriously. In such a situation, 20 thousand passengers are coming daily from Haryana, Delhi, UP-Bihar and Maharashtra, in Punjab, more than 8000 passengers are coming to Ludhiana without checking corona.

Explain that on Sunday, the state government had issued orders announcing the mini lockdown, that every person entering Punjab via rail, road and airplane should be corona tested or the corona report of the passenger should be entered after seeing negative to be allowed. It is worth mentioning that maximum number of cases of Corona virus are being reported in Ludhiana district of Punjab. Even after this, the railway is putting the lives of the passengers at risk.

The cases of corona in the district have increased abruptly. In view of the increasing cases and the serious situation, it has been decided by the PAU administration that till May 7, the Employees Work Frame will remain at home. In an email issued by the registrar to the university’s dean, director, head, teaching and non-teaching staff, it was stated that the work will be done home by looking at the growing cases of Corona. Classes should be conducted online. The field work should be in accordance with the Corona Guidelines.
