New restrictions in Punjab due to corona, strict instructions for private employees

The Punjab government has announced new restrictions in the state in view of the rising cases of corona infection. The state government has asked private offices and the service industry to make work from home. Shops in Punjab will close at 5 pm, while night curfew has been imposed from 6 pm.

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has announced new restrictions in the state in view of increasing cases of corona infection. The state government has asked private offices and the service industry to make work from home. Shops in Punjab will close at 5 pm, while night curfew has been imposed from 6 pm. These orders have been in force in the state since yesterday. Violation of the orders may result in action under the Epidemic Act.

In this regard the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh took these decisions in a meeting yesterday, the notification of which was issued by the Home Department. The government has directed the district deputy commissioners to strictly abide by the restrictions. Authorities must ensure that people follow social distances. Action has been taken against those who do not wear masks. Also, action should be taken against those who spit in public places.

Here are the new instructions

All shops in Punjab including multiplexes, malls etc. would be closed at 5 pm. Home delivery will be until 9 p.m.

There will be a night curfew from 6 pm to 5 am. Non-essential activities will not be allowed during this time.

Curfew will be in place from 5 am on Saturday to 5 am on Monday. However, all necessary activities will be exempted.

All private offices, including the service industry, have been asked to work from home.

There are no restrictions on these

Shops and chemist shops supplying essentials like milk, dairy products, vegetables, fruits etc. will remain open.

There will be no restrictions on the construction industry either.

Factories that operate 24-hour shifts will remain open.

Air traffic, trains, bus traffic will not be affected.

Agriculture, procurement, horticulture, animal husbandry, veterinary services.

E-commerce and all freight traffic.
