The couple, who hails from Phagwara, Jalandhar fraudulently sold the plot of NRI woman living in America. For this, a fake woman’s ID was created in place of NRI. When the deception was exposed, those who bought it canceled their payment withholding registry and system (filing and dismissal). When the woman was aware of this in America, she complained to the ADGP NRI through e-mail. After which a case has been registered against the couple and two of their associates under the cheating and other sections.
- Forged Mukhtiarnama in the name of husband, wife gave testimony
According to the police investigation, there is a 45 Marley plot in the population of Ajit Nagar near Kishanpura named after NRI Balbir Kaur living in America. On June 1, 2020, Narinder Singh, a resident of Satnampura street number 10, Kapurthala, erected a fake Balveer Kaur and got his power of attorney in his name. It was signed by his wife Gurjit Kaur as a witness.
- Land sold ahead of fake Mukhtiarnama
The real Balveer Kaur was in the US at the time it was fake. Which is confirmed by their passport. After this, Narinder Singh investigated the fake Mukhtiyaraname and got the above land made in the name of Sunita Duggal of Guru Gobind Nagar of Phagwara. At the time of its registry, testimony was given by Basti Gujan, resident of Sarwan Singh.
- Regulation and system canceled after payment of fraud
However, when Sunita Duggal’s husband Sham Lal came to know of this fraud, he stopped the check of Rs 8-8 lakh given to Narinder Singh. After this Sunita Duggal canceled the registration and arrangement of this land. During the investigation, the police gave a clean chit to Sunita Duggal on the charges.

Police investigation revealed that 4 people had hatched a conspiracy to grab land of NRI woman Balveer Kaur living in America. Which includes Narinder Singh, his wife Gurjit Kaur, Swarn Singh and Kuljit Singh alias Sabi. PTI
