Former cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has finally started preparing to open a front against his own government in Punjab. He gave the first indication of this on Tuesday in Jawhar Singh Wala, village of Bargadi, where he demanded to make the SIT investigation report of Kotkapura and Bahibal Kalan firing. Simultaneously, Sidhu has indicated that he will not leave any chance to present the failures of the Captain Amarinder Singh government to the public. He has also besieged the state government, questioning the High Court’s cancellation of the SIT’s investigation report.
Navjot Sidhu, who has remained politically silent after differences with Captain Amarinder Singh and resigned from the cabinet, has been pointing to his and the captain’s relationship on Twitter in recent gestures after two desperate meetings with the captain. After this, as soon as he held a rally in Patiala, it is clear that he has made up his mind to get away from the Congress and in the coming few months he can form his own party.
Actually, this time Sidhu has started an exercise to connect himself with the peasant movement to increase political activism. Through this, while they are targeting the BJP government at the center, they are also questioning the Captain government. Meanwhile, it is also learned that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) has now started working on a new policy to support Navjot Sidhu. Democratic leaders have encouraged Sidhu to form his own party, which also assured other smaller parties to support him.
It is notable that despite differences with the Captain, Sidhu never tried to put the Congress Party in the dock. Nor did he openly oppose the captain on any issue. But in the changing scenario, it is being speculated that Sidhu can emerge as the biggest challenge for the Punjab Congress, which has raised the illusion of not having a big challenge in front of the 2022 assembly elections. It is believed that he can contest against the Captain in the Assembly elections.
